Structure:

Property: It’s an effective UV-B sunscreen very soluble in cosmetic oils. Due to its high specific extinction and its excellent solubility is much more efficient than currently available UV filters.

Application:

• The component is novel UV absorbent, high absorption rateis alcohol soluble and oil soluble UVB absorbent,

absorption wavelength range of 280 -- 320nm.

• It has good compatibility with grease components, and has beneficial sunscreen effect. It is often added to suntan oil,

and the added content of this component should not exceed 10%.

• For example, a sun protection O/W emulsion containing 2% of HEB shows a SPF of 4 against a SPF of 2.5 obtained with an equal amount of Octyl Methoxycinnamate.     
• HEB can be used in every cosmetic formulation. containing a suitable lipidic phase, alone or in combination with

one or more UV filters, such as: Homosalate, BP-3, Avobenzone , Octocrylene , OMC , UVA PLUS.,etc .

• HEB can be dissolved in most cosmetic oils at very high concentration. To improve dissolution rate, we suggest to

heat the oil phase up to 70-80°C and add HEB slowly under fast agitation.
